Since you are traveling from the United States, you do not have to worry about buying an adapter to plug in your electrical devices. Ecuador has the same electrical system in place as the US.

While on the beach, never leave your belongings unattended. You should also consider keeping your belongings in a bag that is in front of you while using public transportation.
